Have you heard of shadow work? I have but didn't know much about it or its importance, until now. Your healing lives in your shadow. We push trauma or memories that caused us to feel anything other than great way down and often unintentionally. Every experience shapes us. Every experience has lasting effects on us.
What lives in our unconscious mind, leads our life without us knowing it. Life can feel very chaotic if we let our unconscious run rampant and uncontrolled and can actually harm our life by creating habitual reactions to people, places and things. Have you ever wondered why you always react a certain way or do or don't do certain things?
A shadow is behind us and the past for a reason and you always hear " never look back" but if we do not process what has taken place, like many of us haven't, we continue to make life decisions based on its effects. Make sense?
To look back into your past behaviours and choices, whether from your childhood or adulthood, can be extremely painful and emotional which is why many never do. Many people are terrified to re-live the pain they once felt even if they don't actually remember it but know it took place. Healing and release comes once you have processed, accepted and forgiven.
We all have a dark side. Without the darkness, there is no light, it's impossible.
Our shadow self blocks us from living in our truest potential.
If you find yourself questioning your self worth, your choices, your feelings or your patterns and know there is a better version of you in there, maybe it is time to start looking at what lies within the depths of your shadow, the events that your mind barely remembers.
